We pride on ourselves on giving back to our own community and beyond. Since we started The East London Hotel, we’ve had a policy of donating 5p to a charitable cause every time a guest of ours leaves their room keycard with us at checkout.
Some of the charities we’ve supported over the last few years include UNHCR, Save the Children, and the British Heart Foundation. But whilst we’re proud of our charity track record, we’re always looking for ways to do more.
That’s why we’re so happy to share with you the news that our wonderful team member, Charlie, is travelling to Tanzania in March to work with VSO – Volunteer Services Overseas – as a volunteer teacher, mentor and fundraiser.
We share VSO’s vision of a world without poverty, and we’re delighted to support Charlie’s efforts to bring real change to some of the world’s most disadvantaged youngsters. As a VSO volunteer, she’ll be helping to: increase access to education, raise awareness of health issues, and support micro-businesses, amongst many other things.
Join us in helping Charlie and the VSO: be sure to leave your room keycard with us, and don’t hesitate to ask for more details at reception if you’d like to give further support to Charlie’s work.
